Blue Delft

Blue Delft is an enduring style that has many adherents!  Originally from the blue and white glazed porcelain made in China, the Blue Delft style traveled to Europe along the Silk Road in the early 1600's.  It quickly was imitated in the Netherlands, and the town of Delft became one of its important production centers.  The blue color comes from cobalt blue on a white glaze.
